When I first started coaching at Garfield and the first track meet Rick was on the bus. I always had a couple of saying for my athletes before races "Let's Get It!" and "Time to Leave Time To Go!" I've missed hearing Rick chime in!!! My kids loved it!!!!!

Hello I graduated from GHS 1999...yes the best class!! Rick was so awesome he would come into my classes and write the date on yes a CHLAKBOARD and then simply represent for GHS which made you proud to have woken up for a class like Spanish with Van Kelly. To see a human spirit with so much love and enthusiasm was outstanding especially with his obstacles in life. Thank you to GHS for letting light like this shine.. GO BULLDOGS 99

Hey Rick can't thank you enough for all of your encouragement during my time at the Doghouse. You somehow showed up to all of the away games, which was no minor feat. One of your traits that I admired the most was your "no-nonsense" attitude. You were a straight to the point type of guy. Thanks again. You will be sorely missed. #B4L

I used to love having Rick hang out in the gym during my p.e. classes at Garfield. He was a real task-master letting me know when someone wasn't doing what they what were supposed to. My students loved him too. I'll miss him!
